The Craft

Five stages.
One heirloom.

01

Selection

Each plank is hand-picked from FSC-certified mills. We reject 40% of what arrives — only the most stable, beautifully figured boards make it to the shop floor.

02

Curing

Wood is air-dried for a minimum of 18 months, then kiln-finished to 8% moisture. This is why our pieces don't crack or warp.

03

Shaping

Hand-jointed where it matters; CNC-finished where precision counts. Every silhouette is refined by eye, not by formula.

04

Finishing

Sanded through eight progressive grits, then rubbed with food-safe beeswax and mineral oil — never lacquer, never plastic.

05

Inspection

Every piece is signed off by the maker. If it doesn't meet our bar, it goes back to the bench or becomes firewood.

Care Guide

Live with it well.

Hand wash with mild soap. Never dishwasher. Once a season, rub with food-safe mineral oil — your piece will tell you when it's thirsty. Avoid prolonged sun and standing water. With this much, your Woodnest piece will outlive you.
